Today I get my X70, and on Monday I get my Bluetrek G2. I will tell you how well they work together.

Ok I got and used my BlueTrek with my X70 today! I havent had the time to test out its full capabilities, which I will write about when I have tested everything, but I have made my initial conclusions. Keep in mind that I cannot compare this device with any other bluetooth headset, since I havent ever used any other Bluetooth headset or device.

The BlueTrek G2 is extremely light...so light in fact that I cant feel the weight of it on my ear at all. Pairing the device with my X70 was extremely easy. Voice dialing works almost flawlessly. However, there are a few issues with voice dialing. First, on occasion (i.e., sometimes after having used the phone for several conversations), I will push the "talk" button on the Bluetrek G2, but the phone will for some reason not allow me speak into the headset. Instead, it will end up dialing the last person I called. This could easily be an issue with the Panasonic X70. This problem doesnt seem to occur too often though, and its easily fixed by rebooting the phone.

The range on the G2 is very good. I was able to walk far away from the phone into another room without any issues. I am able to hear the person on the other end extremely well, and the other person can hear me well, except for a few occasions where the person on the other end claimed that it popped in and out, but this happened while I was in an area with a bad cell signal, so it was most likely a T-Mobile issue.

The fit of the earpiece is decent. I can wear the handsfree with my sunglasses without any conflict. My sunglasses are Bolle Meanstreak. In some cases, however, I am bothered by the fit in that the handsfree seems to hot hug my ear as tightly as I would like, but this is not a major problem whatsoever.

When I receive a call, I HAVE TO WAIT until I hear the beeping in the handsfree before I can push its "talK" button to answer the call. The phone will ring one at least one full time before the handsfree reports the beep to me. Once I hear the beep, I can press the button and answer the call with no issues. If I press the button BEFORE I hear the beep, the handsfree will fail to answer the call and will fail to realize that a call is incoming, and I am then forced to answer the call through the handset instead of the handsfree. Thus, I advice waiting until you hear the beep in the handsfree before trying to answer.

I didn't properly charge the battery the first time, so I cannot comment on battery life yet, but it seemed to work well on a partial charge, although I did run low on battery power a bit. When the handsfree is low on battery power, it seems to be unable to transmit my voice to the other end clearly, although I can hear the other person very well. The handsfree beeps to indicate that it is low on battery.

All in all, I am very pleased with the device itself. The major factors that drove me to buy the BlueTrek G2 was weight, size, battery life, and price. I paid $65 for mine, which I think is a steal for a device of this quality. I would definately buy this product again, and I would recommend it. However, I would like to see future versions of the product make a few changes. Mainly, I would like the fit to be more adjustable to fit tighter on me. In addition, I wish that the charger supported 100-240 volts instead of just the U.S. 120-volt standard or the Europe 240-vold standard. Currently, chargers for the G2 only work at the voltage for the specified country: They are not good chargers for world travelers, and this will become an issue for me. For now, I am just hoping that my voltage adapter will work well enough to charge the device during my stays in Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America this year.

Was there anything else you wanted me to address specifically?

It's not really that great, I tried syncing my X70 with a Sony Ericsson HBH-60 and it took me a long while to figure out that you have to manually transfer the audio during a conversation. It's annoying to click menu then transfer audio to headset everytime I make a call. It's not really worth it in my opinion. I think only the OEM Panasonic headpiece would sync without problems, but I haven't had much luck finding that.

Its much easier than you think to transfer audio from the phone to the headset midcall!!! During the call, just press the "talk" button the the BlueTrek G2. The G2 will then beep for a couple seconds (which is annoying that it takes that long though) and then the call will be transferred. There is no need to touch any other button.

jabra BT200
works flawlessly, no distortion whatsoever,, voice dial...hmmm...depends where you are, it tends to confuse commands, so try to make them as clear as possible when you are setting them or else it will mix up names. no problem connecting, actually i've never had a problem with the X70 bluetooth whether it be headset or other bluetooth device, it alawys found it right away.
try anything but the SE headsets, nobody can seem to pair them properly with one try.

Perhaps the new HBH300 will be good. It looks to be better than the BlueTrek G2 by a small bit

i got the jabra bt250 yesterday and i've been having trouble with it. i could receive calls fine with it but when i'm making outgoing calls i have trouble. i can't seem to use the headset when the phone's closed. i can only use it if the phone's flipped open. is this how it's suppose to be or am i doing something wrong?

turn off the active flip in the phone settings menu
