Good evening everyone!

Let me start off by saying that I have searched the forums for an answer to my problem but have been unsuccessful.

I am in the process of setting up my LG VX6000 with a FutureDial 1200 cable to accesss Verzion Express Network on my WinXP laptop.

I installed the Prolific drivers successfully and I can see the COM4 port in Device Manager. I set the phone to RS-232 and I am able to run BitPim with no problems.

The problem I am having is getting the computer to recognize the phone as a modem. I downloaded the USB modem driver from the LG site but when I try to install it manually by selecting the INF file, it still doesn't work. I also tried setting it up as a "generic modem" and when I try to dial, I get a port error.

I hope someone can shed some light on my problem. Thanks for listening and I look forward to your response.

I actually got everything working- I installed the Verizon Mobile Office Software and it recognized the phone as a modem and I have been surfing EN every since. Thanks for the reply bai.

I have the exact same phone and cable. I've got BitPim to work flawlessly, but I can't get Windows XP to recognize the phone as a modem. I don't want to buy the MOK. Any suggestions?

I have tried the VX6000 tutorial with no luck:

I've also tried the USB modem drivers from LG. In neither case does a modem show up in XP.

Help please.
