Well I bit the bullet and ported over from Verizon (I still had time left w/ them and had to pay the cancellation fee OUCH). My wife is on Sprint and decided to merge our accounts plus the selection of new phones for VZ blows.

I only had my new 8200 for less than 6hrs and I already love it! The porting isn't complete but I should be good to go first thing in the morning.

Anyhoo, I'm glad to be here and join the Sprint family. Is there any cool tweaks/hacks I should know about my new 8200?

yeah, don't turn the volume up above 1 and it won't sound like crap lol ... on a positive note, it u can use the flash for the camera as a flashlight by holding down the down volume arrow on the left hand side of the phone with the phone closed...that's pretty cool... i paid $250 and got a free flash light... woo hoo

OK someone please answer this for me. How do I transfer pics from my phone to my computer w/out having to upload it to a website? Can this be done? Do I need a special USB cable or sumfin?

yeah u need a usb cable to connect the phone to ur computer... u can find them on http://www.ebay.com/ for cheap maybe like 10 bucks now, i've had one fer awhile... u will also need some software & driver once u have the cable... http://bitpim.sourceforge.net/ works for phone book and calandar, i think u need something like snap sync for ringers and images, if u check our radio shack u can probably get a bundle cable & software for like 30-40 bucks...

does bitpim also work for pics? I see it mentions pretty much everything except that.

i've only been able to use it for phonebook/calendar, it might on some phones if you know what you're doing, i dont believe it has that support yet... unfortunately... so u may have to go to radio shack and buy snap sync for like 30 bucks... :-\ or u might be able to find it online somewhere, but good luck finding a valid serial # ... or the verision that's updated to work with the 8200.

yeah it's a pain, i highly recommend future dial's snap media (store.sanyousa.com/osb/itemdetails.cfm/ID/180) ... or using a website like www.3gupload.com

well bitpim works for me i can upload the pictures from my phone to the software and vice versa. not a bad software so far at least i can backup my phonebook and other data i have on the phones such as the ringers. i was thinking if i can download the ringer i got from sprint and save it onto my computer and then once it expire i can upload it back i dunno if it has been done before.

so any USB cable that you find on ebay will work for it?

hey, how exactly do you get the flash to stay on like a flashlight? just curious, messed around with it for awhile at work and couldnt get it to work

Make sure the side keyguard is NOT set. Then, with phone closed in standby mode, hold either side of the volume rocker down for about a second. The camera flash will light for 8 seconds 8 or 9 seconds, or longer if you hold the rocker down.

Not any cable. It has to say it's compatible with Sanyo 4900/5300/5400/5500/7200/7300/8100/8200 as long it says one of those it will work with all of the above.

I just activated my 8200 and can't get SnapSync to work any longer. I've used my 3 phone limit. I also can't get BitPim to work with the 8200 using 7.14. My old 8100 worked with BitPim. It looks like I have to spend money to fix this problem. What is the recomended solution. Will my FutureDial cable work with anything else? It worked on the 8100? I keep getiing crashes and such trying to download my phonebook to the 8200. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!!
