download it as an MP3 and change the suffix to .mid
use cid's ringtone tool or brewsky to upload it to your phone.

ya i just downloaded adobe audition, i tried messin around with it but it seems a little complicated, im kind of clueless with it, bc u have to cut the mp3 down to like 20 seconds right? are the programs u mentioned a little easier? and how do i change the mp3 to .mid

For renaming,
simply, take song.mp3 and change the extention to song.mid
You may have to tell windows to show the extensions or just change the view of that folder to show details.
Adobe Audition is complicated but an awesome program. The help file there has a great search feature. Just use that

I just found a small mp3 editor that seems to be pretty easy to cut up a mp3 to make a ringtone

I am using a different mp3 editor (Mp3Trim 1.90a), does that make a difference? What options do I need to change in the menu to make the output valid?
I get this error when I try to upload the edited .mid to my phone through BITPIM:
An unexpected exception has occurred.
Please see the help for details on what to do.

Daaaamn.... I posted on the 9th and no one has been able to respond. This forum was really cool when I first found it, I got all excited about ringtones and wallpapers but once you get past that basic stuff you can see this forum sucks a big fat d*ck.
