) The files do still show in the file browser in BitPim....wierd...Also how do I get to the walpapers that I uploaded? They don't show in the media gallery at all..not under wallpapers or under pictures. Your program said something about verizon customers go to get it now to see them, and I was wondering if you could give a little more information as to where to get them. Other than that great program...and for those that are experiancing the open port problem, I have found that if you connect to your phone through BitPim first, and then close it out and open Brewsky you should be able to connect on the com port that the curitel driver is set to.

Originally posted by bonch ok, it looks like i have just added an extra "00" for each file's index. i have not tested to see if there are different indexs for .mid and for .mp3 on the telus, but for now, you could try deleting the first "00" from "tone" under the "[telus]" section, in "data.ini"... this file is located: "c:\program files\brewksy 8900\data\data.ini" after one of those "00" is deleted, it appears as though the output from brewsky is the same as makeindex, at least for mp3 files. thanks for finding those differences! |

| bonch, I was creating a png 128x145 and loading it the old way with bitpim and my phone was saying that it was an invalid file and asks me if I want to delete it. Other wallpapers I got from this website work though. I thought maybe my file size was too big, but I tried putting the pic on my phone using your brewsky and noticed that the lizard file is larger than the one I am trying to install. Do you have any ideas what I may be doing wrong? I am using adobe photoshop to convert to png. I am keeping the sizes 128x145 or smaller and nothing seems to make it work. |

besides if you don't you will have memory taken up that you won't be using......has anyone noticed that brewsky reads the file system very fast compare to bitpim? maybe a little to fast? to fast to read the directory completely....with could explain why sometimes only some of my tones vanish while others show up....also i notice the when this happens a tone that i have ASSIGNED as a ringer never dissapers....weird huh...well like i said this program is still a huge time saver so i'll deal with it..thanks bonch

Originally posted by duh123 ok, so I've downloaded Brewsy and was able to download the pics from my phone, and up load the mp3 that came with the program. I can't get it to up load wallpapers or pictures to my phone from my computer though. I've tried putting them in the Brewsky 8900\Wallpapers folder, and they don't show up in Brewsky. Am I missing something here? TIA |

Originally posted by JamRowZ How do I get my ringtones into Brewsky so I can put them on my phone? I never was able to get bitpim to read the files on my phone. I have a Verizon 8900. I was able to change the banner using Brewsky and got the Buddy holly ringtone onto my phone. I lost the ringtones I had sent myself via vzwpix including the ones that were set as ringtones for particular people. I figured I would put them back on with Brewsky, but I can't figure out how to get them from my harddrive into Brewsky to put on my phone. I thought upload might do the trick but clicking on upload doesn't do anything. My computer is running the Win2000 OS if that helps. I appreciate the software and probably am missing something simple. Thanks! |

Originally posted by bryn987 I just downloaded this little program and after a few minutes figuring it out, was finally able to upload a higher quality ringtone then the one I have been using. Properties of said ringtone are as follows: *20 seconds long *64 KBS bitrate *44,100 sample rate *mono *mp3 * 161 kb for the size(give or take a few) *MP3 HAS TO BE 1 WORD!!!(that threw me off for a few minutes Other then that, I think some instructions would have been good at the begining but I'll list them here real quick |

Originally posted by Devileyezz Maybe it's a brewsky bug? But, after I upload a ringtone, it asks if I wanna reboot it. To which I say yes, but when the phone comes back on, the computer fails to recognize the "device", so I take the cable off. The phone normally switches itself on, but then when I plug the cable back in, the phone shuts off. And then when I do everyting back, it's normal. I *think* its probably that Brewsky does a cold reboot without actually "Disconnect"ng from the phone. Not that it's a HUGE problem, but just thought I'd put it in. |

Originally posted by Devileyezz Nevermind, I followed someone's instructions from another thread and it worked. Trick: Use BitPim first, and then Brewsky, and it'll work. Why? No idea. But it works. |

ONLY DELETE THE TONE!!! |

). In the mean time, where I can I get specifications on the protocol for sending, deleting, and downloading of files?
I found the tree view, but I can't open up the user/sound/ringer. I get as far as user/sound... but ringer won't open. Using an Audiovox straight USB cable DICU-8400CA

Originally posted by Devileyezz tercero, I'd suggest not to delete the folder. Because I've learnt that an empty folder consumes a very minute piece of memory, or nothing at all. Plus, try listing /ur/sn/rng using BitPim (Ofcourse). 99% you should find your tones there. |

Originally posted by The3rdkinD I just got an audiovox CDM9800 (verison wireless) today and im all ready looking for a way around that retarted"get it now" thing. Really who is going to pay for ring tones games wall papers ext. So i go out and buy there USB conector figureing i wont have any problems finding some place giveing out free ring tones and what not and i figure it will make it 100 times easyer to remake my phone book and alow me to get on the enternet when im out of town. well i get the normal fetures for the cable set up and fix my phone book but i soon find it to be harder than i ever emagend to find free ring tones games and wall papers ext. untill i come across this program. so i download it and when in the program i try to get the basic demo for ring tones on to my phone and i am not succesful. im pretty sure im on port 4 but go ahead and try on all the ports to find the same results. all it dose is say its conected so i add then click upload ring tones and wait... and wait and wait and it dose not do any thing it just leaves the loading bar up there for ever and then some. im not sure what i have done wrong and what else there is to do with the program. it dose nothing under any port and verison i also got bitpim just to look at but i havent played with it enugh to under stand and i dont know why i would need it to run your program... but if any one can tell what i have done wroung or has any tips or tricks to get it to work please tell me.. just post because im really confused... but im glad some one took the time to make a program to do what this one is capable of. |

I use Brewsky with no problems and I never downloaded Bitpim to my computer. I bought the cable from Radio Shack for about $17.00 but I'm sure you can find it on ebay for less. Make sure you get the data transfer cable for the LG V6000 phone. Hope this helps Lminor7

Originally posted by kevin7kevin7 I would recommend getting the straight usb cable without the serial converter in it tho. I have read that some people have had problems with the cables with the "box" (converter). I got a straight LG VX6000 cable off ebay today and it has worked perfectly so far. |
This phone NEEDS ringtones BAD! Thanks
