If your using Bitpim 7 and it will not retrieve the phones information, what can be done to resolve this?
I have the COM port my data cable is in and plugged into my phone correct, but when i click the + sign it just says "retrieving" and never pulls anything from the phone.
How can you resolve this and get bitpim to recognize your phone?

Perro -
Yes i am using the Curitel drivers. I have the COM port typed into the settings of bitpim and phone plugged in and bitpim will just not read the data off the phone so that i can open the phone in another program to add ringtones.
Anything i can do fix this Perro?

BitPim cannot read the phone information. Enable the fileview (from the menu bar, depending on your BitPim version). The only thing you can do in BitPim is get a list of files (and then upload/download). None of the other functions will work for the 8900.

Try setting your security code to 0000. Mine didn't work until I did that. By default US Cellular, sets your security code to the last four digits of your phone #.

I had no luck using the BitPIM method of adding ringtones. I tried Brewsky, and that worked great. Just have to remember to connect to the phone first w/ BitPIM, then close it, then go w/ Brewsky.
BTW, I'm using the cable from US Celluar.
