WTB Glossy Black full housing 4 Moto V400...

I've searched everywhere (eBay, hofo, google), and I haven't been able to find anything about black OEM full housing for the V400. I've been able to find many aftermarket V400 cases that are black, but none are OEM (I'm interested in having one with the silver metal piece in the middle). I've had bad experiences with DayDeal, and their middle part is cheap looking and plastic and isn't even centered properly. Not to mention their paint chips pretty badly. Has anybody heard of Motorola OEM faceplates? The only ones out there seem to have ONLY the middle part coloured in. If worse comes to worst, I think I might just buy the glossy black housing from a different dealer, pop out the middle part, and replace it with my original one. I'm not sure I can even do this though, so any help would be appreciated.

If you mean search on eBay, I have and I can't find anything. It's a bit frustrating. Even on the motorola site, under accessories, there aren't any faceplates or housings or anything. But thanks for your help anyway

I have that housing, the middle part is smooth. AFAIK moto doesnt make an OEM black housing. If you want the middle silver piece on a black one, get some aftermarket crap. pop the middle out and get a set of http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...308386917&rd=1.

Motorola has no colored OEM faceplates for V400/V500/V525 but you can find the OEM faceplates in Ebay and get it painted by some pro, like the car painter or something.

motorola will not have an OEM faceplate for v400 because they claim that it does not have changeable faceplates...

well technically, it doesn't. It requires you to take out screws to change the face, right?

Posted by: skorpien

Yup, and you void your waranty by changing it yourself. You've gotta go through a Moto certified dealer to change the housing on the V400

btw, I'm thinking of getting that straight black glossy housing, and having it interchange with the regular OEM housing on my phone having it alternating... ie, Black front top flip, grey back top flip, black front bottom flip, grey back bottom flip, black battery cover... it's been done before by somebody on HoFo, but I want to do it to mine too

Hey guys, first post here. I was going to make a new thread about where to buy good quality housings, but this thread should do.

1) What is the quality of all those after market faceplate/battery covers out there? Ae there any dealers that sell good faceplate/baterry covers? Possibly OEM?

2) Concerning these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...308386917&rd=1.

Do they require one to remove the screw covers and undo the faceplate, or do they just pop off from the front?

Good luck getting those to "pop off" your phone without damaging it. You're better off removing the faceplate and prying the middle off VERY carefully, then putting those back on. Not worth it IMO. Better to get the full OEM housing. That way, you'll have a back up incase you mess up.

The oem glue that keeps it on is very strong so if you want to pry it off, you will need to remove it. I recommend you try and dissolve the glue or use a hairdryer or something because you will most likely damage it trying to strongarm it off.
