M55 shutting itself off

I tried posting this in the Fido forum, but no help yet... and it really is annoying. If anyone has any ideas, I'd really appreciate them. It just happened again!
I got my M55 during the promos in December and have had absolutely no trouble with the phone at all.
Until today that is...
This morning when I was walking to my early class and made several phone calls on the way. All was well and good. Then, as I got to campus, I went to make another call but my phone was off. Ok I thought, I left the key guard off and accidently turned it off in my pocket. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I turned the phone back on and my clock was reset to 00:00 on 01.01.2003. Fine, one problem in almost seven months isn't bad at all.
Little did I know that this was just the first of SIX times my phone would reset today. I don't understand it. Sometimes it would come back on with the time at 00:00 and others it came on back to what it should be, but one hour behind.
I don't understand what's going on but I definitely don't like it.
I haven't changed anything with my phone recently. I let a friend use my charger on Friday night, but there's no way that could cause a problem. I uploaded a few images and ringtones to my phone last month from the Siemens-Java.com but there were no problems at that time.
I upgraded the firmware and unlocked the phone using the software provided on the Siemens site back in February or March too, but again, no problems seem to have come from that.
I'm really confused with why this came out of nowhere. Does anyone have any ideas?
I'm going back to Toronto on the weekend, so if I have to I can make the trip down to the Eaton Centre to have it checked out.
Thanks

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution to your problem, but you're not the only one experiencing this. My phone turned itself off a couple of times as well...sometimes when I would turn it back on, before the main screen would even load up, *boom* off it goes again.
Recently I haven't had too much trouble though. But it does happen every so often.
Anyone know whats the problem?
ps. How'd you get your M55 unlocked?? I can't find the file for unlocking it on Siemens site

You have to buy a siemens USB Datacable (DCA-510) to unlock the phone.

My sister is having the same problem on her unlocked M56(m55 uk) and I was told that it was the software on the phone. The phone would out of nowhere turn off, operate slowly, menus not show up right. Her sw or Firmware was 4 when it should be 6. In order to upgrade the firmware on it she would have to send it to Siemens. Since your software was upgraded it was probably not flashed right or: the battery might be bad, it's loose, has a week connection. clean the gold contacts on the battery or if you know the batterys good it's the frimware. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies folks. I decided the easiest thing was to take it back to my provider and have them do a warranty exchange. Now I've got a new one, but no problems this time (same battery, btw).
heck out www.siemens-java.com there's lots of useful software on the site.
