Looking for DataPilot for 8200
Primary DataPilot functions:
* Sync Outlook contacts, calendar
* Download and/or backup ringtones, images
* backup PDA internet connect, only when on rare travel

1. Is there any difference between the products at
RPI Site 8200 DataPilot:
RPI Store 8200 DataPilot
*and*
Susteen Site 8200 DataPilot:
Susteen Store 8200 DataPilot
?

2. Will both sync calendar with the 8200 (Susteen page says "yes"; does not say so on RPI page).

3. Is there any difference in support/upgrades?

Product images look different (cables), but images are just images. Software versions are not listed.

It's the same software with the same features, and any support and upgrades would come from Susteen. I believe RPI uses generic pictures for their software packages.

I ordered the same DataPilot package from RPI plus one of their charging cables over two weeks ago but haven't received it yet. I was finally able to contact them about the delay, and they offered to send some extras along with the order, but their website still doesn't show the order as being completed.

They have contributed phones and cables to the BitPim project, so I believe they are a reputable company, but I'm not impressed with their delivery or customer support.

I am curious, Jim: What made you choose DataPilot over BitPim, and spend the extra money? I hadn't heard about BitPim before reviewing this forum.

The only reason for getting DataPilot was for the Outlook calendar support that BitPim doesn't have yet. I keep all of my appointments in Outlook and couldn't stand to enter them all into my phone by hand.

I was able to synch my old phone with Outlook's contacts and calendar using the now defunct FoneSync. In fact the purchase of my new phone was predicated on the availability of synchronization support for it.
