Anyone elso on CellularOne service (I'm in SE SD)? I have a Audiovox cdm8900.

On phone turn on and off has a really annoying "hello" message with a loud crappy little ditty. Anyone know how to get rid of this?

Have been able to use a cable to pull pics off and add ringtones to. Has anyone been able to get free wap off CellularOne? I tried the steps in this post:

Keep getting "network not available". Can't get the 1)mobile web 2)settings 3)homepage, area to save any new homepage "http://wap.google.com" I enter into it. It just keeps reverting back to the original default "www.openwave.com.

Thanks

I have a question for you guys. I am also on CellularOne service and I recently got a cable off of ebay and am trying to set it up but its not working. What is the phone supposed to look like when my computer is connected to it. When I try to use it the phone goes to the hello splash screen and nothing works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have read a number of posts indicating problems with the e-bay cable, so I got mine at Radio Shack. Cable #19. It worked without a hitch. I use BREWSKY and all is well.

I have gotten WAP to work using the settings from that thread.
I was also able to save the google homepage.
However, I also had BREW enabled when I tried it. I used it a few times and discovered that it was being "billed" as WEB access. I went over the 15 free minutes and it cost me $9 for doing mostly nothing. So, I called and had BREW disabled in hopes that WAP would still work. Nope.... I tried a few things and decided that WAP isn't worth the trouble.

I have the ebay cable after 2 weeks of installing and removing the drivers rebooting phone and the puter I gave up and got the radioshack 1700792 lg6000 data cable for 20.99 i plug in the phone with it on i see nothing on the phone that changes i start brewsky set com port or start bitpim and can download pics from phome to puter or add ringtones.
as far as the free wap i cant get it to workat all i get the same problems yall get Keep getting "network not available". all i can say is if the ebay cable is not working and you followed the forums throw it and get the cable from the shack it sure cut my stress level it worked the first time and every time well i take that back 3 times in the past 2 weeks brewsky did not see phone so i unpluged phone and pluged it back in and it worked fine i might not have had it pluged in completely
