Freakin' shortcuts!

Ok, this shortcut thing on the phone is getting to me. I can’t figure it out, or it’s stupid!

Manual says: To enter the first submenu of the shortcut menu, press joystick <- But when I do that, I get the first shortcut that I’ve got listed in My Shortcuts. Is that how it's supposed to work? It doesn't get you to the My Shortcuts menu?

When I go to add a shortcut, like it says in the manual:

You can place your favorite functions that you want to reach quickly and easily in the My Shortcuts menu.

To add a function to my shortcuts

1. Scroll to My Shortcuts, Edit Shortcuts.
2. Select a function from the list by pressing Check.
3. Enter the position number you want for this function in your menu and press Ok.
4. Press Save to exit the list.

What’s the point? Can I access the list from the Standby screen? I figured you could do something quick, like press the joystick <- then put the position you want.

Or do I have to press the joystick, then go to the My Shortcuts menu, then pick the second or third shortcut? If so, that’s silly! By the time I get there, I might as well go straight to the screen I wanted. For example, I added View Week (calendar) as the second position. Instead of going thru all this trouble, I could just go to Calendar and do it. It might be one extra step…

If you press joystick <- you access position one in your shortcut menu.

But I've heard it's possible to determine your functions on your numbers from 1-6 I think.
If anyone knows how this works,... please tell me

A friend of mine told me this: the fastest way to use them is to go into menus (press joystick), then press 3 (for shortcuts), then the position of the one you want. Better than the old way i got to them, which was navigating with the joystick to the shortcuts menu.
