hi can any help me

does anyone know what pantech model this phone is, currently on ebay under g650 but i can not find anything on the web about a g650.

I'm thinking of buying one but need to know if it better than the g500 and following -

Do you know if the phone has photo caller id so that when someone rings there photo show on front screen?

do you know if you can download ringtones to this phone and what file type they are?

can you use these downloaded ringtones for different caller groups or is it restricted like the Innostream 89?

Can you take photos while the phone is shut?

and is it any good.

thanks for your time

Hi, I just bought the Pantech G600 which might be similar to the G650. The phone is really small (smaller than Samsung E600) and very well built. Here my replies to your questions:

YES - the screen is 264 k TFT compared to 64 k STN in Inno 80 - they look much better

do you know if you can download ringtones to this phone and what file type they are?
MIDI and MMF - you can also convert MP3 to MMF and transfer them to the phone (like Inno) - 64 polyphonic ring tones!!

can you use these downloaded ringtones for different caller groups or is it restricted like the Innostream 89?
You can set a different ring tone for each group

Can you take photos while the phone is shut?
Yes you can, you can also change brightness, plus activate the "flash"

and is it any good.
I had an Inno 90 and prefer the Pantech. Camera is VGA, better than Inno 80 but slightly worse than Samsung. Package comes with data cable and pretty decent software for transfer of images, photos, melodies AND address book

thanks for your time
You are welcome

It's not really smaller than E600..

Yes worldexonline state E600 is 98 x 49 x 24 mm, but that's absurd. They are nearly the same size (82 x 42 x 24 mm)..

Btw. Have they improved the SMS system compared to G500? G500 has just about the worst sms system you could imagine..

Well, I had both phones and the G600 is smaller. I use Multitap which works fine. I am not sure you can add new words to T9. MMS is very well implemented but adding a recipient takes a while! Best is to go to a name first and then choose send SMS/MMS!
