Hello, I have an Audiovox 8900. when I had my # changed the cell phone store forgot to change the # in the phone. So when I go to phone book and than option 6 which is "my phone #" it still displays my old #. Also a problem with that is that when I hold down 1 to dial my voicemail it still trys to call my old # and I get a disconnect notice. I am thinking it may have to do with the NAM function which is transmitted by my carrier. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

I think that was kind of related to the problem I had when I bought my phone. When I got it home I noticed after a few days that it thought its own phone number was a series of zeros. (000-000-0000). I don't think it really mattered, but I messed with it for several hours. What seemed to fix it was to call the *228 thing and select option "1" (program your phone). After that it did show my own number. It's a freebie so I guess it would be worth a short.

That is a NAM issue, to fix that you can go the NAM Programming menu pressing ##20022002 after that press End.

Thanks for all the responses. So I called Metro PCS today, they are a provider only in the San Francisco Bay, Atlanta, and Tallahasee Areas. They told me to push ##20022002End on my phone and it took me into a secret security menu. They had my change the NAM ID and it corrected my phone # issue.
