4700 and Sprint

Found detials of Sanyo 4700 undergoing FCC testing with a Sprint logo on it. The phone will use 1xRTT data rates. It looked identical to the 4500 but with a shinny silver face.

Sprint Technically only NEEDS dual mode. If I remember correctly, they are 1900 MHz across the board...Verizon is another story though.

So why the Analog then? Wouldn't a single mode work just as well (and be cheaper, and smaller)?

True about sprint, they use 1.9 throughout their entire network so no need for tri-mode unless travelling into Canada.
