Why isn't the search feature working for me?

hi, im trying to search for "v80" but everytime i put in v80 or *v80 or *v80* or v80* i get not matching items, is it because you need at least 4 characters? if so i do i search for v80, of course i can put in motorola, but most people don't say it in the posts
