HELP!! Caller ID not working

Hey,

I just got my audiovox 8900 a few weeks ago. When I receive calls the number shows up but not the name in my contact list. The manual just says that once you put the name in your contact list it should show when getting calls. Also, when I dial a call (with the actual numbers) that is in my contact list, the name doesn't show. I hope this is just something very stupid that I am overlooking and someone here can help.

do you have a 1 in front of all your numbers. you don;t need it if you do

the 1 is not necessary becuase I dont have it on mine. Your phone list should match the number that is coming in though, i.e. area code

phone list - bob = 545-686-6666
incoming call - 545-686-6666

Another annoying bug in the phone: I have full caller-id blocking and put the *82 in the contact list phone number for people I want to unblock. The phone won't skip the *82 code when caller-id comes in.

Workaround: Add the number in one of the other number fields (such as fax) in the contact entry without the *82.

Hey it worked,

Thanks for your help. The problem was just the 1 in front of the number. I've never had a phone that did that. I'm glad it was something so simple.

i tried that and it didnt work!!! just the phone # and a little animated girl dancing shows up!! please help
