Problem with WAVE ringtones for SX1

I just got it today and i tried to use a WAVE file as ringtone. When it rings, it plays the WAVE for like 1 sec and then back to original midi ringtone. WHY is it happening???? Is my WAVE ringtone too big for the SX1 to handle as ringtone??? BTW, my WAVE ringtone is around 2.5mb. Plz let me know!!!

Yes, your wave it too big. When I tried a CD quality wav it didn't even play. I convert mine down to ~11kHz mono and they sound fine. It's not like I really need a hi-fi ringer.

do u know the approx. limit size for the wave file???

Sorry, but I don't. The longest one I have is 60 seconds and it's the music from the show Married With Children (for my wife). It plays just fine. All you really need is a 30 second clip anyway...

hey i tried converting it to 24kHz stereo for 15secs and it works!!! the size is around 600kb...i think i'll try higher quality until it reaches the limit. NICE NICE mp3 ringtone!!!

For SX1 users...the max frequency for WAVE ringtone is 32kHz 16 bit stereo. I don't think there's a size limit to it coz rite now my WAVE ringtone is 3.91mb and it still works.
