I charge my v600 at night on my night stand. Does anyone know how I can turn the external display light off and event lights off only for charging? I like them on when the phone rings, just not when it charges!

That's how MOT intended it to be.

You can flip it over or throw a towel over it.

It is a little bright. It is like a fog light coming from the other side of the room. Very cool for the first couple of minutes, then just annoying.

I have noticed that when I plug my phone in it goes from vibrate to ring loud. And if I go to Settings/Ring Styles it allows me to change the event light to OFF. Cool! But nope it turns the Even Lights Off for all of the ring styles. Oh well.

I leave the even lights on of course so I know if I am connected to bluetooth, etc...I just have to do the "set the phone face down, and cover it" thing.

be sure not to keep scratching your phone
though when you do this; everyone knows it scratches easily.

The 100% Cotton soft towel method combined with turning the phone over while charging should alleviate your issues.

Just make sure the towel is clean so there is no hard particles in there that can scratch the phone.

The funlight.pat file is the file that controls the external light when charging. Read BitWise's post about hex editing the file in in the general motorola forum.. He found out how to change the colors of the lights, but I don't know about turning it off completely.
