It costs $3 USD. Thats right. I just modded my 8290 to icy blue leds. Its so awesome. How much does it ususally cost in the states or in canada.

I found a place in a nearby mall that would do it for $80 US and they also need the phone for a whole day. I would do that if I lived in that city but I don't and it is a long commute for me.

50 CAD in nite market..but do the thailand ones gurantee the LEDs AND installation, my friend got her 3390 Led change in H.K and a day later her LCD went blank, turn out the person who did the LED's took her good LCD and put in a bad one that was probably broken but roughly fix up so it would work until my friend left the area. Any the LED person did not even apologize, he call it her own fault(how can you saw that when you LCD look diffrent after a LED change) and call the cops on her..so yea beware...her mod only cost 5 US and that' includeing LED for two colors

depending on how many leds your phone uses.
cost me $13(24leds) for just the leds. but its cheap. and also what kind of leds you want ie: cheap aftermarkets or toyoda G's. also the color matters.

just make sure you watch em. even though they do it right there infront of you.

i saw this one store selling the presoldered boards for 51/62's for like $45+

Im sorry, i misheard what she said, i thought she said 140 baht. Which is 3 dollars. But what she really said was 40 baht!!!! Not $3, 95 cents!!!!!!!!! They seem to be an honest nice store and a lot of people buy from them. Its in a mall too, not some dirtyass night market with broken LCD's.

well, hong kong is probably a little different than the store im going to. They sell OEM nokia stuff, they are really nice and legit. People are always crowding around the store because they have the best prices and are the best.

And team ayu: where can you get it done for 20 CAD?

do u know that there's after market stuff that looks just like OEM?

even the packages........it's like 99% the same

but the only different is that the REAL nokia stuff have a lazer sticker around it (outside of the package)

Team Ayu: yeah i bought like 2dozen 51xx faceplates for like 50cents and it had Nokia labels and packaging. even if they say Nokia on the faceplate. like the Nokia indentation. but hey even the Stores like cingular buy those cheap aftermarket faceplates and sell them $19.99-$40+.

Yes i do know, they do have the sticker, and there are Nokia stores here, and i had them check the quality of the faceplates, and they are real. I dont know about you, but i trust people, and if they seem nice, ill believe them. But you, you seem like one of those people that never trusts anyone, and are bitter. i dont know if its just me, but it seems that all your posts towards me are negative........ Or maybe you're just an *******?

there are ways to tell, the fake nokias come in OEM looking packages, but dont say the names: sizzling, ice frost, glacier, etc. The fakes have shiny infrared plates, and the OEM ones are grainy. And the chrome on the back isnt all colorful, the fake ones say nokia differently too. Its the way its written thats different.

from THIS post(dont know bout any other ones) i think he was just giving u a heads up. cuz i've seen those fake oem nokia products. and thats alot to say from just postings.

so are they actually selling all OEM stuff a lot less? i bet ur in nokia heaven. i would be. lol. planning on getting a phone over there?

there are fakes without the colour of the names for sure, but there are fakes with the names of the colours on the box. this one guy tried to sell me a fake for a real price just because he looked like he was in a decent store...

all i know is in HK the real ones have a strip/band that's a sticker that seals both sides of the packages.

when i bought my "Light" (aka the OEM white cover) i didn't trust the packaged ones... i had them open a new 8310 and give me that cover and keypad!

GreenHills,san juan. but thats the place to get EVERYTHING imaginable. its like a flea market. only way better. i usually go inside the building 2nd floor and 3rd floor. you can find some permanent stores on there that will also sell everything at wholesale/bulk prices.

are you planning on installing them your self? you can buy the leds from any stall, but they all mainly go up stairs anyway to get the leds. but when u do get leds ask where they come from. i forget which countries are better for leds. i think japan is one and finland(or is that just for lcds?). I know Toyoda Gosei's are very good.

anyone know where the best leds come from?

Where in Thailand did you get your mods done? I'll be there in a couple weeks and would like to pick up some stuff. MBK maybe?

ye gods... the most expensive place I can find here does blues/whites for AU$45 (~US$30), and other colours for AU$40 (~$US28)

and OEM nokia faceplates are about AU$20 (~US$13)

fu*k! WOULD YOU BELIEVE....

I just tried to instal LEDs myself and ruined my LEDs, my phone has no lights cause if fubar'd it AND I'm going to Thailand in 2 weeks. Damn.
