I am currently using T-Mobile as my provider. Recently, I did a firmaware update from Sonyericsson.com and NOW my display reads "Cingular" as my provider. My phone works but it is annoying. I've tried to Select the "T-Mobile" Network in the "GSM Networks" menu but it doesnt see it.
Has anyone had this problem? How can I MAKE my phone read T-Mobile again.
Thanks for your help.

Well guys I found the answer to my own question. T-Mobile does a "OTA" SMS that updates your phones settings so that it is T-Mobile configured. I suggest anyone who has purchased a phone from somewhere other than their provider do this. The SMS I was sent configured my SMS, WAP, GPRS and Picture Mail (which I didnt have to begin with). My P900 works better than ever. The Tech guys at T-Mobile were great and explained that even though they do not carry the P900 they have settings to optimize its use on their network. No more annoying CINGULAR banner on my phone!

You may be on a Cingular tower (within T-Mobile network coverage) ... as they currently own a slew of towers that T-Mobile also uses.
This is to change if Cingular buys out AT&T... Cingular will be trading towers with T-Mobile who has towers in New York where Cingular doesn't.
Tower sharing is done on almost all networks... so no need to panic.
Per settings... yeah... OTA's work awesome.
Here's the OTA site that T-Mobile technicians use themselves.

This includeds:
* WAP
* MMS
* Internet Access.
Good luck,
