I was wondering. With so many ppl recommending the SE Z600, Nokia 3650, or Samsung V205, where do people keep their phones while walking around? You can't put it in your shirt pocket cuz it'll weight your shirt down. It makes your pants bulge out (is that a brick in your pocket or are you happy to see me?). And belt clips... my dad has one and he looks really nerdy with his Nokia 3510 clipped there.

I always put mine in the front pocket of whatever pants I'm wearing (I guess thats why a small phone is always important to me)... I agree w/ the "nerdy" look of having it clipped on your belt.. but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do if thats the only way it'll work. lol The few times in recent years I used a belt clip, i'd "lose" the phone so many times from it accidentally falling off when I'd get in and out of a car, etc.. The last time I actively used belt clips was when the Motorola StarTac was the "in" phone and i used the holster for that... But that was over 6 years ago. heh

i alwayz keep my cell in my front right pocket , used to keep it in my back right but that was when i aint talk much and didnt need to reach for my phone often haha.

In either pocket as along it's not in the same pocket where I have the keys or loose change. I perfer pants with deep pockets. I used to use belt clips, but stopped using them since I can feel the phone dig into the side of my body.

I keep it in my left pocket right now too! But like i0wnj00, I keep my keys on the right side pocket away from the phone... I think I scratched up my Nokia 252's screen that way.. but I hated that phone so it doesn't matter.

gargladdy - is the ngage pretty big? does it stick out pretty oddly from your pants?

i'm afraid to do the back pocket thing for several reasons.. one is the thought i have of someone coming up from behind and pickpocketing my phone. lol But also if its in the backpocket.. i'll probably "forget" its there and may sit down.. and who knows, phone may crack, or it may slide out of the pocket onto the seat.. and i'll leave without even double checking.. and suddenly i've lost my phone! hah

When i first got my cell phone I thought about the back pocket... but I ended up sitting on it a lot and it didn't feel good. These days, phone aren't as rock solid and cheap @ss as my 252 so sitting on them would probably crack the LCD screen. hehe when i use to put my wallet in my shirt pocket, I would always have it fall out... I'm glad it was at school with friends to find and give it back to me.

IMO, the three worst places for a phone to be is..
1.) Any of the back pockets.
2.) Any pockets that are tight. Difficult to insert/remove the phone when you really need it.
3.) A phone that's sharing space with keys or change. It depends on the phone though, just like anotheran mentioned. I'd rather have my Nokia 3390 dinged up than the V600.

I never had the problem of sitting on my phones... before when i tried to always have the smallest phone (like nokia 8890, or samsung s300) i did put it in front pocket... nowadays, with the bigger phones (se z600... inno... etc) you can really notice when they're in the back pocket... especially if ur bending over to sit down

lol! That reminded me of a comment a friend made to me when i was shopping for jeans. She said that the jeans I had on were a bit too loose but with your wallet it'd fill in. Swap a wallet for a PDA-like cell and I'm on my way

haha i noticed that too.. i put it in both pockets.. but i guess its usually in my left pocket.. and my keys are in my right pocket. My theory.. is because i'm right handed.. if i were to put hands in my pocket.. i have a tendency to put my right hand in right pocket.. and given that.. i'd either rather reach for my keys.. or would rather reach for "less" in that pocket.. i.e.- my keys are smaller than my phone.. so it'd be less that i am grabbing.. hahah dang that sounds so bad. lol

read on yahoo news a while back about cellphones that are put in jean pockets in males that can affect your sperm and decrease chances of fertility..

I was surprised cause I have all my flip phones in my left pocket all the time.

that's a very good point... hmm.... i use my keys more? Since I'm right handed I need access to my keys more easily. Or do right handed ppl tend to lean right more and if their cell was in their right pocket it'll have a higher chance of getting crushed?

well... wearing briefs/tighty whities can lower sperm count as well as any outer clothing too "Restricting" such as tight jeans. lol so a man that wears tight jeans, tighty whities, and has a cell phone in the front pocket is doomed for impotence? lol

clipped to belt, or in left pocket. i dont have it sticking out though when i belt clip, so its not noticeable at all. better than the "nerdy" look.

i have always used holsters.. but i only buy phones that come with the real oem clips like nextel and i have never losed my phone... also i think nextel is the only phone that comes with a clip that actually wont drop the phone unless u bang into something kinda hard....

I usually keep my v600 in my coat pocket and my s700i in my pants pocket. I used to use an oakley bag as a cell case but its too hard to deal with when the phone is ringing and I'm trying to get it

I keep my S700i in my shirt pocket. I found a helpful side effect of that too, if you are going to pick something up you quickly learn to bend your knees rather than lean, and this is good for your back too

I'm getting a V3 soon, and I usually use holsters for my phone. Are there any GOOD holsters that exist for the V3? I don't want to keep it in my pocket becuase it's so thin...feels kind of strange, almost like I'm going to snap it lol.

I ALWAYS have my phone in my front pocket of my pants... nothing ever happens to it... even the p910i doesn't make my pockets look buldgy, however I do have baggy-ish pants.

I did have my screen of my P900 break though... I think my seatbelt cracked it. Don't know what happened, I'm always carefull with my stuff but somehow it broke... Luckily I was insured and got a new screen installed.

theres also another thread that has a nice oem lether case that will clip on your waste but i can't seem to find it right now, if you search you may be able to.

I have a Nokia 3595 clipped to the right side front pocket of my jeans. Sometimes I clip it to my belt. I use the AT&T branded OEM plastic swivel clip so it sticks WAAAY out.

Front left pocket for me too - keys in the right. My phone's in a krusell case though so I'm not worried about it getting scratched or anything.

My girlfriend keeps hers in the typical girl fashion - anywhere. She'll leave it in her car at nights, forget it at home, put it in her purse with her keys.

OK, I know I was being a wise *ss when I said nostril, but I have actually clipped it to my belt on my right side. I wear a leatherman, and put the phone behind it, thinking it would be protected by the leatherman. Recently however, in a department store, I got jostled into a display case with results shown below.

my phones in my front right pocket, my cash/change is in my little pocket thingy (that tiny pocket jeans have) and my ipods in my front left pocket when i have it with me.

I never found phones bulging to be a problem, even when i had a 3650, it didnt bug me too much.

Surely I'm not the only one right? I keep mine in the little pocket on the right side of certain "painter/carpenter" jeans. The place where I guess you would put a tape measure maybe? I don't know, but it's perfect for cell phones. It's gotten to the point to where I only buy those kinds of jeans. Or they at least have to have cargo pockets. I can't stand anything in my pockets. And when I get to work, my pockets are completely empty with the exception of my little pocketknife.

Got my little Kyocera-branded case for my Soho in the mail yesterday.

It has two parts to it (one front and one back); and the phone fits in it like a glove.

HOWEVER.......had to take off the front part this morning as the flip doesn't want to stay completely closed with both parts of the case on. (Shouldn't Kyocera have known better?) So the front outside display would keep going upside down and the light would come on, thinking somebody opened it.

Doh!

But I like the clip on the back part of the case. Clips nice on my bag or a belt!

HEY!!! I'm a woman & my electronics are pristine & perfect!

I actually agree with that- most girls do not take care of their phones. I keep mine in my purse, but I make sure it's in a safe spot, like a zipper pocket or one of those cell pockets that nearly every purse has nowadays. God, I'd NEVER leave it in the car overnight though! I freak out now whenever I don't know where my phone is b/c I had my beloved 3650 stolen about 2 months ago.

I wear the carpenter jeans that have the pocket between the knee and the hip. It is perfect cause I can feel the phone vibrate but doesnt protrude from a front or back pocket

I keep all my candy bar style phones in my left front pocket, protected by an oakley fabric case cut to length. It rides in the pocket with all my keys and loose change, but the case protects the phone so well that it doesn't even have a scratch on it.

I usually use a belt holster if I have a flip phone.

as I wonder how many of you are impacted by where/how you carry your
firearms, for those of you that CCW/CHL?

Me I carry my phone in my left pocket as I am right handed. Should I have my gun drawn in my right hand, I might need to reach for my phone with my left hand. This of course means my phone must fit into the same pocket as my spare magazine.

Other people experiences?

Belt clips and inside pockets. Never put a phone in a shirt breast pocket, great way to lose or damage it.

I use to put my wallet in my shirt pocket. I lost it a lot of times and even at school where my friend helped pick it up and give it back to me. I would never consider putting anything outside a tissue or a post it in those pockets. My cell still lies in my left pants pocket. when i use to have a blackberry, i had a belt clip and kept it on my right

The holster is not "nerdy" in fact every hip person at our school had there new phone on there hip with the headset in your ear. our philosphy is if you got it flaunt it. But only if you have a cool phone you should where it on your hip not an old one. i would think you would want people to see you new futuristic phone. And besides I walk through about 300 people in a tiney hallway everyday and my phone has yet to fallen of the holster. And you get alot more attention out of that 500 razor or that 300 v710 or the newest phone that is coming out if it is displayed.

But think about it, it does make sense why spend so much on something that sits in your Levi's all the time

You're a very rare exception

I bought my roommate a 6010 for christmas, and a leather case for it a week later.. I figured if she was going to put in in her purse I was at least going to wrap something durable around it first

My new 7100r stays in my front left pocket as well, in its magnetic case. My keys/flash drive go in my front right (flash drive in the lil change pocket), and my change goes in a little (but very manly) change purse thingy. Ahem.

Vertical Leather Pouches. This is how a mobile, any mobile should be kept. Usually on your right side for easy accessability. Looks cool and chances of loosing it are also slim. No more bulging or drooping of pockets.

Haha, I was reading through this thinking the same thing... I'm surprised there aren't a lot of other people doing this. I always keep my cell phone in that side pocket, unless I'm wearing regular jeans (not often) and then I keep it in my back left pocket.

actually, i find myself constantly holding my phone or leaving it out on a table surface whenever nearby. i wear baggy pants and it always falls out when i sit down and i lost a phone that way.

I keep my 3650 in my pocket. Its only annoying if im sitting down for a long time. I'll just let it sit in my lap if thats the case. You dont see a bulge because I wear baggy pants.

It really depends on the phone i'm using when I take my hiptop2 out with me usually in my side pocket or jacket if I take a flip phone it goes in a holster or hydrofoam case.
