Can the v300 play MP3 ringtones??

I'm asking because of all the threads i've read, they all seem to refer to models just above the v300. like the v400, v525, v600 and so forth. I know i have to buy a USB cable to be able to do this, but before i waste 30 bucks, i'd like to know if it's possible on the v300.

the v300 does play mp3s. you know the ringtone "sombrero"?
