Sanyo PM-8200 Calendar Alarm Issue?

It appears that software doesn't set the alarm time in this phone. I have several appointments that I have set alarms between 1 and 24 hours before the event. I bought DataPilot to be able to import calendar data from Outlook 2000, and BitPim for ringers and wallpaper, neither write the alarm time to the phone. Here are the steps I took:

* Import Outlook appointments into DataPilot. The alarms show properly in DataPilot, i.e. an appointment at 14:30 shows the alarm time to be properly set for 06:30, 8 hours in advance.

* Send calendar data to phone with DataPilot. All alarms in the phone show zero hours and zero minutes before the event.

* Import calendar data from the phone to BitPim. All alarms show properly in BitPim, i.e. the same appointment as above shows the appointment at 2:30 PM and the alarm at 480 minutes, which is also 8 hours in advance. This tells me that the data is being transferred properly by both programs.

* Resent this calendar data to the phone again, and the phone still shows all alarms at zero hours and zero minutes before the event.

If this is indeed an issue with this model phone, I will be very perturbed. With a paltry 14 character limit on the calendar description and location, I already have to be very creative to write a meaningful description.
