Hello, I'm getting very frusterated I cannot get my SX56 to work with tmobile. I can get the phone portion and text messaging to work but nothing when it comes to web. I've been on the phone with tech support many times and nothing. I've even tried two tmobile stores and they can't help me. My PPC is loaded with the tmobile software and my sim card is from my previous sidekick phone. Phone has been upgraded to mobile 2003 and said to be 100% unlocked. I'm not exactly sure what else to provide. Anybody else have a simliar problem? HELP! Thanks.

What are you trying to do with your phone? Are you able to receive email? Use an HTML browser ? Use your WAP browser ?
I'm set up for TMo on my SL55. I use reqwireless's web browser and the phone's POP email program without any problem. Try this link:

If you want to give me a call and run through the settings, email me privately and I'll give my number.

I beliveve it is loaded with the xda-developers Special Edition ROM 1.2, but cannot be sure. Supposedly 100% unlocked as purchased off ebay. I have tried to do wap.voicestream.com
internet2.voicestream.com internet3.voicestream.com to no success. I have called tech support they said they'd file a ticket and someone would call back... nothing yet. I am trying to just use my phone normally. Voice and text messaging work fine. I have the unlimited internet plan with tmobile and cannot get internet explorer to work. It always pops up saying grps modem failed. Will not connect.

OK. Gotta start at the beginning.
click on "start" > "settings" > "connections. YOu should have a screen with three items in it: internet settings, work settings and my network connects to...
at the bottom, you should have connections and dialing locations. Click on dialing locations and make sure that is setup correctly. Then click back on the connection tab.
click on "modify" under internet settings. You should see, under "name" the following "new", T-Mobile internet and T-Mobile VPN. Tap T-Mobile internet and you should open up a new window with connection name (T Mobile internet), select a modem (cellular line GPRS) and baud rate of something or other. Click on the advanced... tab. Make sure "server assigned IP add'y" is checked. Nothing else should be checked off. Ditto the "name servers" tab at the bottom.
Tap "OK" to get back to the T-Mobile Internet screen. Click "Next". Use access point name internet2.voicestream.com. Then click "finish". YOu should be back at the "INternet connections" window. HOLD the stylet on T-Mobile Internet and you should have three options: delete, always dial and connect. Tap "always dial". If you have other things, such as T-mobile VPN (I have none of those highlighted for VPN), you can leave it at home. Any settings from the previous setup, such as ATT, delete.
If you've already done all this, I'll have to rethink this from the beginning. Let me know if you've gotten this far, and then what happens when you try to open a browser window.
