Looked it up in the manual, it made no mention of such a limit. It only said 128 kbps was recommended, and VBR (variable bit rate) was not supported.

Does anyone else have this similar problem?

i tried a few mp3s with higher than 128k bitrate and the songs were grayed out on the phone and unable to play. the 128k ones were ok though. sound quality also acceptable. suggest you just convert yours down to 128k.

I can get 192 to play, but like you said 224 is grayed out, even though i see it under sound gallery.

For those needing to convert: poweramp DB is a good program. Free. Just search in google.

Is it true that you have a 50K file size limit when it comes to MP3 ringtones on a Sharp Gx32?
