GX30 Restrictions

Just to let you know, the way to get round the gx30 restrictions is to flash the gx30 with the gx15 firmware. This removes all the restrictions and even the bluetooth.
I know this sounds strange but trust me - it works.
Fistly you will require a serial data cable which you can get off the net, and the flash file off the gx15 along with the software. this is the only flash file that will unlock the restrictions on the gx30 phone, don't try the gx32 flash file as this also as restrictions. all these items are readily available on the internet ( they have been tried and tested ). no jave app will be permitted access to the O/S because of the restrictions codes imposed by Vodafone. and flashing your phone is the only answer.

so your phone has the GX-15 firmware on it? anyone else tried this and seen it work? if it does work out...that would be one of the most AMAZING things ever! finally the GX32 would be free of all the stupid restrictions
Posted by: pipin
may i ask where you got this information or did you work this out for yourself.
Posted by: kajama
FLAME. i think so
how could you do this? is there any 1.mgpx camera on gx15 ... or sd card reader? or it wont work? =) i think that now you understand that it is a joke
Posted by: pipin
it,s not a joke?? you only need a certain part of the flashfile

Ok as this is getting serious if you know where the gx15 flash file can be found or if you have any information on this flashing, you can be kind enough to post it. Let's help people not make statements

i am having trouble posting the part of the gx15 flash file i used. I am working to sort this out.

Please someone tell me that this works!!!

I argee, tell us it really works and share the wealth. It has been two days since someone said it was possible, I say if it was possible we would have been provided some proof, like a picture of the screen with bluetooth linked to something besides a ear piece. Otherwise to me this is looking like another fake hack.

Somehow, it doesn't really make sense as to why it would work. Here is a number of reasons:
1. The GX30/32 is a flip phone. The GX15 is not. The firmware for the GX30/32 is built for this. Like for example, when you close the flip, firmware instructions tell the phone to switch off the internal screen, and switch on the external one. Because the GX15 is not a flip phone, there is nothing written in the firmware which allows this.
2. The GX30/32 has a 240x320 resolution, where the GX15 has a smaller resolution (120x160). The firmware simply wont 'fit' on the screen resolution.
3. The GX15 does not have an expansion slot for memory cards. The GX30's expansion slot however would be useless as there is no instruction in the firmware to use it. The GX15 also has no MP3 Player, nor video recording, which would really downgrade the phone.
As I do not own a Sharp GX15, I cannot confirm that everything I have said is correct, I'm just pulling information from certain review sites, and using a bit of common sense!

i smell fraud

you only take the necessary part of the gx-15 firmware such as the bluetooth.

Sooo, spill it or forget it. It is three or four days since you told us of your findings, but you really have not told us anything.

the idea about taking the bluetooth and IR part of the firmware would be interesting...i wonder if bongowireless would have any luck trying to do so?

: It makes me sick
when I read fraudy messages about some flash-hack procedure that cannot exist. Guys...just ignore him...Peace and Out!

Why do people feel the need to post up stuff, that obviously gets the real users of said phone excited due to the fact Vodafone have forced there restrictions apon us...
Does this person feel all pleased that they have posted up a fraudulant thread, or if it is true then the fact they haven't returned with some kind of proof, makes me think its a sad little geeky type that can't produce anything positive and true so should stick to sad little jokes in a scanky corner of a bar, no friends and a cheesey smell of fraudulance...
Please if your going to post up something, make it true, this is the type of thing that makes the internet bad....we have all something in common, a great phone with terrible restrictions...lets work together and sort it out...

that this dusnt work but there is NO WAY i am going to try this wen my gx30 cost me 400 quid....im prepared to wait and C if the gx40 has all these shity restrictions...(pardon my french)
