talk & surf impossible after firmware update

I recently updated my 7280 to firmware version 3.7.1.41. There were many good aspects to this firmware update including enhanced reception.

One bad thing that has happened, is that I can no use the browser while on a voice call. If I attempt to surf during a voice call, a message is displayed :

"A voice call is currently in progress. Browsing will not be possible until the Voice call has ended."

This same message appears for both the HTML and WAP browsers.

The older (8 months?) firmware allowed browsing and voice calls concurrently. Is there any way other than downgrading the firmware to enable browsing while in a call?

Are you sure the older firmware did that? As far as I remember I could never do that on my 7280

I am not 100% sure. I seem to recall that it had difficulty surfing while on a voice call, meaning the call would drop.

In any event, it would be advantagous to be able to do both.

You won't get it.
The radio in the BlackBerry is not capable of transmitting data and voice at the same time.

I located another BB with the same older firmware that I had been using. The message is the same.

I must have been looking at cached data before.
