Mac OSX Treo600 on T-Mobile (wireless modem)

Hey Folks,
Has anyone managed to get a T-Mobile connected Treo600 working as a modem on a Mac ?

I've got WirelessModem working and I'm able to connect to *99# and get connected, it goes through a bunch of LCP (link config protocol) stuff (looking at the logs) and eventually terminates because it's rejected PAP authentication.

If I type in any old username/password combination (just random) then I get past the PAP auth but reject 0.0.0.0 IP addresses...

Weird, very weird.

Anyone had any success ?

Hi,

Glad to hear someone has gotten as far as you have in doing this. I attempted to use the Wireless Modem code and instructions from the Sprint version of the Treo 600 without any luck on my Rogers (GSM) version of the phone. Can I ask a couple of questions:

1) What version of OSX are you using?
2) In your Network Preference what port are you using?
3) In Network Preferences which script/driver are you using?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

I'm using 10.3.4 OSX
The network port is "WirelessModem"
And I've tried all kinds of scripts. The one that gets the furthest is the Treo600 script that comes with WirelessModem

I found a bunch of stuff about TETHERED mode that I need to try. Apparently on the Treo you can do a "*TETHERED*" and it will act as a modem.
GSM phones are different, there is some weird combination of "*#" and then "TETHERED" to get it into this mode. Did it once but haven't been able to again.

When I get some more time I'll tinker with it and see what I find.
