Sanyo has made a reputable name for itself in the wireless world, but every once in awhile I get a customer who doubts choosing a Sanyo phone because of previouis experiences they have had with their products. (ie. Sanyo portable CD players, Sanyo VCRs, Sanyo TVs etc.)

My question is do you think Sanyo: the brand, as a whole, has improved the quality of their entire product line? Or do you think their speciality is still only in their Cell phones division? Discuss

i actually bought my sanyo 8100 bc i'm so impressed with sanyo products. i have a sanyo vcr from almost 3 years ago that is still going strong. i've got a sanyo 20 inch flatscreen tv set as well and i love it. i'm very impressed by the fact that sanyo makes quality electronics products without making them expensive. and my 8100 so far has met with the expectations i've come to have from sanyo products. i'm not sure about how they used to be before my vcr was made but i can tell you now that i'm very impressed by their products.

Sanyo has improved and diversified it's offerings. I am watching tv right now in high definition... on a beautiful widescreen HDTV made by none other than Sanyo.

The best part was the price: $750

Sure, Sanyo makes some cheap products (i.e. alarm clocks)... but they've shifted toward making higher quality products like TV's and cellphones in recent years.

Most definately. I would say the same for samsung as well. Right now, samsung is a heavy competitor for sony tv's ever since they introduced their dlp (digital light processing) technology. so yeah I would definately say that sanyo is a better brand now than in the past.
