RL-7300 speakerphone issues.. need feedback

Ok.. I picked up an RL-7300 and activated it yesterday. I am impressed at how loud the speakerphone is.

The problem is that it seems whoever I am talking to can't hear ME unless the phone is within 6 inches of my face. This seems utterly pointless, as I might as well be holding it to my ear.. which defeats the entire purpose of having the speakerphone: so I can use the phone hands-free while driving.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same issues or if I'm missing something when it comes to using the speakerphone.

You're not alone. The speakerphones just aren't very good. Sanyos are also only half-duplex, so even if you're holding it next to your face, you can only talk when the other person isn't. They're very good for listening to voicemail though.

That's the impression I'm getting. I also recently purchased a Treo 600 which has a full duplex speakerphone.

It's still not perfect but the person on the other end doesn't seem to have as much trouble hearing me as with the 7300.

My problem with the Treo 600 is that the speakerphone isn't nearly loud enough. The 7300's speakerphone is probably 3 times as loud with both on their highest setting.

Does anyone know if there are any other good full duplex (or usable half duplex) speakerphones out there?

The T608's speakerphone is the best currently available. Pretty loud, decent clarity and full-duplex. I've used mine in the car with the phone sitting in the door pocket 2-3 feet from my face and it worked very well. I needed to keep the windows closed though.
