I just got my cable in the mail today but can't get it working too well.. BitPim appears to read all of the data off my phone just peachy, but when it gets done fetching it all, I get the following error:

Code:

Afterwards, all of my contacts appear in BitPim perfectly, but no ringers or wallpapers. I can view the Filesystem with no problems. Anyone know what's wrong?

Hm, it appears that the directory names on my phone for ringtones I've downloaded end in a /r/n (C++ escape codes for carraige return and end of line). Both of these characters are illegal in a Windows filesystem, so I'm thinking BitPim must be trying to create a folder with an invalid name. Can I rename folders in BitPim?

Hi,

I also got the LG 6070 and been trying to use BitPim 0.7.18 to get my phone's data without any success, beside backuping the file system. I allways end up with an exception error.

Can you tell me in details how you configured your phone and BitPim for this to work?

What kind of cable you got?
How did you set your phone's settings (USB, Serial port, etc)
What "phone type" did you use in BitPim (VX6000?.. since the 6070 is not listed in there)

Regards,

Yea I'm in the same boat as the guy above, I can't get anything out of anything.

I have a USB cable that says LG CDMA 8080/8180 on the connector, and it's using 'prolific usb to serial' drivers.. It's on COM3 and available

I can't get BitPim to recognize it no matter which phone model I choose, it doesn't respond to anything. I actually have 2 of these phones (just had to buy a 2nd to replace my first b/c the screen cracked)...

would really appreciate some help...

I'm also having the same problems. I'm using a LG-CDMA 8080/8180 Data cable (from Ebay) with Bitpim 0.7.33 set for LG VX6000. The only com ports Bitpim sees are Communications Port (COM 1) and USB Data Cable (COM 2). Isn't it supposed to see a LG CDMA USB Diagnostic Driver port? Isn't it also supposed to be listed in WinXP's device manager? When I open up the filesystem I can see all the wallpapers and ringtones on my phone but when I right-click to make a new file the option isn't even listed. I've tried re-installing everything (data cable drivers, LG drivers, and Bitpim), tried both USB and RS-232C settings on the phone, and made sure both ports are set to 115200 with no luck. Anybody have any ideas or suggestions? Help please!!!
