Upgrading to a Treo

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I'm considering upgrading from my current combination of a Sprint Samsung SPH-A460 and Palm IIIxe to a single PDA phone device. I don't need much in the way of advanced features, as my main activities on the device would include maintaining my MS Outlook mailbox/calendar in synch with my laptop and light web surfing using the PCS Wireless Web and AvantGo. I do all of those today with my combination of devices. I don't have a pressing need for things like remote email, built-in cameras, etc.

Do you think I'd be satisfied with a Treo 300 to handle the tasks I've described? Or is there a better solution for me?

Note that I'm not willing to switch from Sprint to another carrier...

go with the Treo 600, it just works better. Or you can wait for about 3 months and get the next Treo...so you could get the 300 in the meantime and wait for the next ugrade so your wallet doesn't get hit hard twice in a row

Given your requirements, the answer is yes: the Treo is fine for your needs. You can pick them up cheap, and while the 300 is pretty limited compared to the 600, it's a hell of an upgrade from the Samsung/Palm combo you're currently using.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll pick up a Treo 300 on eBay for $100 instead of spending $250 and renewing my contract.
