Unlocked SL56 with Firmware Upgrade

I currently have a Unlocked Cingular SL56 on T-Mobile and I saw that there was a firmware update on Siemens web page. If I upgrade the firmware, will the phone still be unlocked?

i think it should still be unlocked. i have an unlocked S56 and i updated the firmware and my phone was still unlocked.
