Greetings all,

Just wanted to start off by thanking anyone that has replied to my threads. I'm a new member of howard forums and the wealth of information available is inspiring.

I was wondering if anyone knew how I could change the settings of the backlighting? I'd like the backlight to come on anytime I touch the blackberry's keys (like a phone) but as far as I know unless you actually hit the power key the light does not turn on.

Additionally any ideas how you can keep the light on for longer? If you're working in the night time on your blackberry you keep having to hit the power key when the backlighting turns off.

Ideas anyone? Suggestions?

You don't specify which version of the BlackBerry you have, but the only BlackBerrys with any control over the backlighting are te 7700 series. None of the other BBs give you any control over the backlighting whatsoever.

Sorry!...I use a 7750 with telus mobility. That should fall under the "7700" series - please do share how one can control the backlight on them.

From the home screen: Options --> Screen/Keyboard --> Backlight Brightness will be an option.

for the record...the 77xx series is by far the best series to come out...even though "bigger" its much better

One trick - hit the phone button on top of the blackberry and then it will light up. I just hit the escape button to go to the home screen.
