Old Unit with Goodlink vs new 6230

I had an old [950?] unit running Goodlink software [Cingular network] that I loved. The Goodlink software was great.

One too many drops cracked the case, and our office staff replaced it with a new 6280 "blueberry" on the ATT network.

In comparison, it's awful:
  1. Weak coverage/reception on the ATT network in locations where I had good coverage with the cingular network.

Interference on telephone, speaker and computer near blackberry

Needs to be cradled to recharge battery every 2-3 days, which will be a pain when traveling instead of popping in a AA battery.

The blackberry sync takes longer to sync and interrupts other work on my desktop when I cradle it.

Goodlink synch was transparent, rather than taking up time when I start and end my work day.

Goodlink auto filled names within our corporate address list, while BB requires me to type in full internet access for colleagues.

I don't know if I'll have any luck convicing out IT dept to go back to Goodlink, but wondered if any of the BB fans here had any suggestions or work arounds.

Can't do anything about that, comparing GPRS network to Mobitex network, ATT vs. Cingular. It's a coverage thing with no easy fix.

Keep it further away, sorry can't offer anymore advice then that.

There are travel chargers available and you should be able to buy an extra battery for back up.

I'm not too sure about this statement. The 950 which was serial would take longer vs. the 6280 which is USB. When cradling both, they both behave in the same way with the Desktop Manager.

And the rest, well I'm not familiar with Goodlink.....

Thanks. Is there a consensus on the coverage of the Mobitex network vs. the ATT GPRS network? For example, most people believe the VZW voice network is strongest.
