Hey everyone. I've been looking on here for over a week now trying to find and make sure I have enough information before I ask some questions. Thanks for all the information you guys have given so far. I've found it very informative and it has answered a lot of my questions. Below are the ones I have left.
I have an SL56. I have a disc with tons of ringtones and wallpapers. From what I gather from what I've read is that I need an IRDA for transfer to the phone. Now, here's what I would like to know.
I have a bout a 2 and a half year old Compaq computer. Will the IRDA I just ordered work with it?
What does my SL56 need to be set on to receive the ringtones/wallpapers/games? Do I just turn the phone on? What commands will I use to transfer the data to the phone? Is that on the software I will receive with the IRDA? WIll all of my questions be self explanitory when I receive the IRDA?
Sorry for so many questions. I just need to know. I threw some money away on a data cable and am afraid I'm doing the same thing with this IRDA. My luck is about as bad as they come and for some reason I'm having uneasy feelings about the IRDA I just purchased.
Thanks everyone.

Basically all you need to do is turn your irda on, on the phone. This is done from the setup>>connectivity. Helps to turn it off afterwards because it sucks your battery.
Blast all your files at the port and the phone does the rest.
To make it easier if you can find an "import" option in the filesystem then the specific files will go to where you want them imported.
But...the first option usually works. Usually once the file has hit the phone it sits on the main screen above a softkey. You can select and open the file and usually tell it where you want it saved.
Hope this helped or just confirmed if you've already done it.
