Another VX6000 / bitpim question

I am very new to this and searched but I am still a little confused.

I just got the VX6000 with US Cellular service and a data cable from Radio Shack. I plan to download bitmip but where do I install it? On my computer or the phone itself? I also see people talking about drivers...again is that for the phone or the computer? I am running WinXP Pro. Are those the only three things I need?

Also, can I change the voice mail notification sound?

Sorry for the newbie questions but I am lost.

Thanks

You load the software to your computer then connect your phone to your computer via a USB cable.

Yeah, BitPim is a program that is installed onto your computer. That is the program you'll be using to transfer ringtones and wallpapers to your phone.

Now that you have the cable, you need the drivers for your cable installed onto your computer so that your comp recognizes the cable. You can get these by clicking HERE

Hope that clears a little bit up for you
