Restoring 8900's Phonebook

After looking through my 8900's file system and backing pictures and ringtones up, I was able to find the file for my phonebook and back it up, which was very convenient because I fried my phone trying to put pictures back into the phone by forcefully adding pictures instead of overwriting them, which is the wrongest way.

Now with my new phone, I overwrote the existing phonebook with with my back up and rebooted the phone...but nothing happened. Was a little dissapointed when I found out that I had to have an existing phone entry for every phone entry of before....

Now the problem(s).....I was able to get all the people back into the phonebook as well as their numbers but I found out that it would only show their mobile numbers and any other kind of number would just show a blank number with a mobile number icon. It also wouldn't have any arrows to show the other numbers under one person. I found that if I added anything to the entry like another digit or letter anywhere it would save and the phone entry would act normally. This became very irking as I had many phonebook entries to go through and after adding one character I had to go back and erase it, so I would try and change the grouping of the phonebook entries. I added my personal grouping to the phonebook and found that many of the entries would be in the wrong group, but when I would attempt to change it and save it, my phone would crash and I would have th pull the battery out. As if this wasn't enough of a problem, it seems that every single time I do this, the phonebook would in someway duplicate the file where it would hold double the memory in the phone. And everytime I would try and change the groupings, the phone's memory would grow shorter and shorter until there was no memory left and it would take 5 minutes to start up the phone.

The point of this thread is to find out if anyone has had any more success with restoring their phonebook and found some ways around these problems. I'm sure this will help not only me but anyone restoring their phonebooks as well. Thank you in advanced!

[note: usually, if a verizonwireless technician cannot turn on/start up the phone, all data will be lost including the pictures, sound files, and PHONEBOOK and cannot be transfered to the replacement phone.]
