CDM8900 Annoying Service Beep Noise?

I was wondering if there is a way to turn off this noise. It does it ever time I have service and everytime I loose service. While walking through the mall or anywhere else like that the thing makes the little noise atleast 200 times in a half hour. Is there any way to turn this off with out all the cables need and stuff?

Hmm... this is just a guess.
Go to Menu -> Settings -> Sounds -> Alert and select OFF for any of the 4 (Minute, Roam, Connect or Fade)
