Heh...

I just got a 3360 today (already hate it) and I have an 8290 I've had for a while. The 8290 is up for trade for an 8260 (so I can use it on the new plan). Anyway.. I'm lookin to mod it up a little.. nothin big. I don't know crap about it though.

I like this faceplate..

I'm thinkin about gettin that.. will the silverish keys it come with work with that? I'm sure it would, I just gotta ask n00b questions.

Ok now honestly.. how hard is it to install some LEDs or whatever? I wanna change my display and buttons from green to like.. white or blue.. probably blue. I don't solder for crap.. am I outta luck? Seriously though.. how hard is it?

Oh and damn.. forgot the original question... do yall think I should mod the 3360, or get an 8260 and mod it? The 8260 is gonna cost me some dough to get. I already have a faceplate for it (matrix silver if yall know it). I like the 8260 better cuz it's smaller and stuff, but the reception blows on my 8290.. I don't want bad reception anymore.

Ah and yes.. where do I get custom ring tones and little picture deals? I see some people with graphics on their screen.. where do I get that kind junk? What's it cost?

I also have a 3360 and I think it's a great phone.

About that silver faceplate, I just wanted to let you know that I have had bad experiences with SILVER. It tends to scratch pretty easily and some of the silver comes off... anyways, that's just me.

I would prefer the 3360 than the 8260 because the 3360 is newer and has infrared capabilities. But the 8260 does have the caller groups, which is not available on the 3360.

You can get ringtones and group logos from websites such as uFone.ca, but the group logos would not work on the 3360. This stuff usually doesn't cost anything and you have to make sure you can receive SMS.

I can imagine the silver gettin screwed.. I don't really mind. I tend to get bored with things easily anyway, I'll probably change it before too long.

Is the 3360 uncomfortable in your pocket? The 8290 was nice cuz I couldn't even notice it.. now I have this big 'ol thing to lug around.

I don't really find the 3360 uncomfortable in my pocket, but that's probably because I have never experienced a smaller phone in my pocket.

It does feel a bit big when compared to my friend's 8390, but I don't really mind.

That's cool. I'm actualy on the phone with VS right now getting my phone unlocked, so depending on how AT&T works, I might just mod my 8290. I want an 8890 face for that and blue LEDs.

You know how hard LEDs are to put in?

Keep the 3360, you will learn to like it, and i think it's a great phone. Of all the cool phones: 6360, 8260, 8265, v60, 8860, i choose the 3360 for some reason!

It's starting to grow on me.. it's just when you put it next to the 8290, it's HUGE... heh..

I'm sure I'll like it eventually.
