LG L1150 Software!!!???

I asked this question over on the AT&T forum, but they are no help at all (like their customer service!).

What software is available, that is like Bitpim, for the LG L1150?

I need to find something, I already have a data cable. Just need software, I don't care if it is generic GSM software or LG specific.

I call LG and the rep. said they didn't have any information at this time. Can I use the data cable to transfer pictures from the phone to my PC? Will I need software?

I use the cable from my old vx6000. Same darn thing.

It's a Russian LG site, download the LG Universal Data Kit (it's in English). When installing, choose the last model of phone given. The PC Sync, Contents Bank work on my G4011. The Contents Bank does not work on my L1150. I haven't tried the Internet Kit on either phone yet. This works with a data cable that I got on Ebay for my G4011. Hope this helps.

LG L1100 SOFTWARE

Scroll down to "L1100_English"

Now they dont have software for the L1150 yet. "Still working on." But this software will allow you to transfer atleast ringtones. If you dont have a data cable....you can use your infared. But you have to download an addition program to turn your infrared on you computer to a "active" one or something. But dont worrie when you install the program...it will give you the website to download it.

BTW...if that programs doesnt work try the others...

The LG Universal Data kit DOES work. Here's some more info for LG L1150 people with the USB data cable ...

1. Buy radioshack cable

2. Download BitPim software Windows 98/ME/2000/XP

3. Download FutureDial USB Drivers

4. Uninstall any previously loaded usb/port drivers

5. Install USB Installer.exe

6. Under phone selection, scroll up to select LG 6000

7. Re-boot pc (after successfull installation)

8. Turn on LG 6000, select MENU 8, 6, 2, USB

9. Turn phone off, then back on to re-boot

10. Attach USB>serial cable to both phone and pc
PC will automatically detect & install New Device

11. Install bitpim_7.16_setup.exe

hybridnrg: Where did you find this "Still working on." status reported? Does this mean that they are actively working on the L1150 version of "LG Contents Bank"?

I just got the data cable and i was reading some of the things you posted.. the LG 1100 software works on mine except the data bank.. it says i need to use com1 port but im using com5(usb). is there a way to get it to work or is there new software out for the LG L1150 yet ? i wanna get to use this ×××× and not waste my money....

After the digging I've done I'm all but convinced that picture transfer is not possible using a data cable or irda on the L1150. It sounds like AT&T Wireless worked it out with LG to disable (prevent) this feature at the firmware level, no doubt to force customers to use the paid service to get pictures off their phones.

It's amazing that nobody has started a class action suit against them for pulling a stunt like this. I know it's standard practice in the industry, but the phone that I bought was crippled so it does not do what LG's site says it should, and AT&T Wireless never warned me.

If someone can prove me wrong, then please do. I'd love to get the pictures off of my $120 brick without giving more money to the empire.

fuk man are you serious ?? if thats true i basically wasted about $125 on this phone and the data cable and ××××.... thats so retarded..... i hope ur wrong and there is a way cuz i like this phone.. mainly for that reason....

Seriously, I hope I'm wrong too. Not that this is proof or anything, but I emailed LG Customer Service a while back asking when the LG GSM phone software for L1150 would be released and I got this reply:

"Thank you for inquiring of LG Electronics. Your e-mail regarding the Data Pilot software has been received. This software is used to synchronize contact and scheduler information between your phone and your PC via the data cable. You cannot download ringtones, wallpapers, games, or pictures using this software with the data cable. For these features, you will need to contact your service provider as these are features that are supported by them."

(BTW, I never asked for "Data Pilot") I didn't contact AT&T Wireless (aka Cingular) because I'm sick of dealing with them, but if you have any luck then please drop us a line in this forum. I wish I remembered where I saw the post about the crippled firmware. If I had known that this would have an unhappy ending then I would have kept better notes.

Hey i got the LG L1100 software to work on my fone. so i can can upload stuff to it now. but im not sure if downloading is gonna work yet. since it isn't for the right model... but hell it works

also you have to edit the contents bank config file a little bit but thats all.check the link below for that.

Thanks for the update, RayDog. That's about how far I got before I had to punt. If you get the transfer to work in the other direction then you will be my hero. Specifically, I have an L1150 full of images that I want to transfer to my PC without paying tolls to the phone mafia.

I was able to transfer ringtones and images to the phone, but never from the phone. Seriously, if you can get it to work then you will make a lot of people happy.

i emailed LG and this is what they told me... i also emailed AT&T but got no reply yet... have to wait and see but mean while im gonna try this out..

just got an email back from AT&T and it was what i expected from them.............nothing.. so it looks like we are on our own to find a way to work this phone..
