Sound Forge anyone?!?!

I have been reading these forums for a while, possibly 5 months but i thought i had to pay to subscribe, so thats why i have no posts, and thats why it may look like i'm lazy but i'm not.

My question is this. I have the 8900, i recently used brewsky which messed up all the ringtones on my phone, so i decided to make my own. Only problem is, and i've seen in other posts, that it wont play on my phone. the specs are under 121k which doesnt matter since i have the cable. I save them as mp3 which doesnt matter cause i have the cable. i have tried to save them as mid, even midi, but nothing seems to work. I have tried multiple resample rates according to everyones specifications, and NOTHING. it plays just fine on the computer. The only thing i see is when using brewsky, it has a little x on the icon where it used to have an arrow, i can only assume its because i didnt download it off the verizon network. I read in some post that i had to restore something possibly, but i never found that post again. The only thing i can restore is my apps i've downloaded with brew. so if anyone knows how to use sound forge, or if i'm doing something wrong other than resampling it wrong, which i'm not, could someone PLEASE drop me a line as i'm sick and tired of these crapy factory ringers, nor do i feel like paying for seeds again when i already did so, nor do i feel like using polyphonic if i have the equiptment to make my own. Thank you for whoever can help me.

do a search of my past posts and you will see the specs. for the mp3. are you making it one word? i.e. thesong.mp3 instead of the song.mp3? also, make sure its mono, not stereo

i'm not sure what your doing wrong, but i'll give u specs for making ur own tones

-cannot be larger than about 150k
-must be at least 22,050 hz
-it can be any bit rate, but anything higher than 64kbps is just being wasted because its being played on a ×××××× speaker
-the filename must be 1 word
-mono

i limited it down to one letter like "a.mp3". Yes i have read your posts, and yes i rechanneled stereo to mono. I tried 20500 from the ranges of the khz you provided, but still nothing??

edit: rather 22050

now, for me none of those specs matter. i just leave an mp3 as it is, shorten it, and download it with brewskie. I used to make it mono, and all that other stuff, but it really sounded horrible. But now my tones sound like the actual song.

adam, do you think i could e-mail you my sample file and you tell me if it works on your phone? or if you can tell me whats wrong with it? because i dont understand why the buddyholly one works with brewsky, but my ghettogirl1.mp3 doesnt work. i made them exactly alike.

now when you goto view the Menu, 6, 3 and look at "downloads" to the left of the name there is the message thing, does it have an X through it on yours?

nice it does work. I just shortned everything from back when I was emaiing myself tones. Now I just uploaded a stereo, 192 kb bitrate to my phone and it sounds so much better

sure, you wanna post your email address? or PM it to me. And yeah, i do have the red x, but they still work.

thats great i'm glad you guys can get this stuff to work, where as i......an ex computer science major cannot. lol. i really dont know what i'm doing wrong and would just like someone to help a brother out. i can send a sample of my 70kb 24 kbps 22050 that wont work

that has the name.mp3 all one word
