Treo 600 email client

Hey Everyone I have a treo 600 on Rogers. I use the standard email client to send recieve e-mail. I have about 1000 messages in my inbox but now I am trying to clean some out but the device resets itself everytime. I ahve done the rogers treo update as well as a hard reset. I am thinking about deleting the backed up email folder in the handspring directory on my computer and doing a hard reset. Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?
