What kind of bike are you looking for?

A friend of mine has a '99 yamaha R6. He also says that Honda CBR's are good and are a good find at 8-9k CDN. I'm thinking of finding a used sport bike.

I assume you already have the license.

I've had two Yamaha R1s and I am getting my third next year. What size do you want? A liter bike? 600 ccs? Best curve carver is the R1, straight line speed, and this is still debatable is the GXS-R 1000. I wouldn't touch the Kawasakis, they are just behind the times. So the new R6s for next year are a perfect bike for startes/beginners. Now that Cbr-954 by Honda is nice looking but still lacks punch. So first choice (1st) Yamaha, 2nd Suzuki GSX-R 1000 3rd Honda CBR 954 and last is the Kawasakis

They have a nice lineup of bikes... 400-1000cc

The lightning looks promising too.

Buell is a kind of a knock Harley. Before Harley took over they were a pain in the arse to service and find parts for them. Stick with the rockets! YOu won't be disappointed.

I like Buell because their designs are much more original than say something from honda or yamaha. The Lightning for instance has its fuel in the frame and doesn't have all that plastic cladding most sport bikes have.

Besides... whats wrong with a harley?

the VRSC kick's some serious tail. Porsche designed engine, and really nice lines.
