Downloading MIDIs

I found several MIDI files that I want to use with my Sanyo 5150. However, when I try to use the software (with the cable) to dowload the songs to my phone, I get an Error 109 message. However, the MIDIs I purchase from midiringtones.com work just fine.

Does anyone know what the problem might be? How can I use the MIDIs I found with my phone?

Thank you!

How are you trying to download them? I use the data cable and the sanyo multimedia software. I have loaded several midi file onto my 5150 that I have downloaded from here and there over the past many years. Where are you getting the error message from? The phone? Software?

I am using the data cable and the Sanyo multimedia software. The error comes from the software.

Thanks.

I had a problem the first few times I tried the dialer software because the setting on my comm port was too high. Check the windows (?) setting of that. If it's set way high, try setting it at 14.4 or even 9600 and see if that changes anything.

Michael,

Do you mind trying to download the attached MIDI file (inside the ZIP archive) to your phone. I would like to isolate the problem, whether is my phone or the file.

Thanks!

That midi file works just fine for me. I am using a Sanyo 5150 with the 5150-5000 multimedia master software. I am running windows xp pro which has been rock solid. I have yet to have any errors downloading anything to this phone.

I am so glad I went with the 5150 over the Samsung A-500

Good luck

Looks like it worked fine here too. No errors.

This is very odd. I've downloaded that MIDI and several others now without problems.

I am starting to think its an issue with either my computer (P3 Dell laptop), OS (Windows ME) or both. I have plenty of RAM (256MB), so I wouldn't think it was a memory issue, but all signs point to it.

I wish someone would tell me what "Error 109" means.

Thanks for all your help everyone
