I Love my CF62!

I had my eye on the Siemens CF62 since I 1st heard about it a few months ago. I saw it as a T-Mobile to Go phone for $100 yesterday and saw it as an oppertunity. Buy the phone, get 125 prepaid minutes, and worst case if I hated the phone I could unlock it and reset the settings to Siemens original, then Ebay it, and probably make a good profit too. Well, as it turns out I love the phone. I also have a Sony Ericsson T616, and ya know what I realized? The Siemens compliments the SE. Like, everything the SE can't do, the Siemens can and vice-versa. It's like thanks to these 2 phones, I am now set with all I want a GSM phone to do for me. I love the phone, I'm keeping it and I'm gonna unlock it and restore the factory settings so that I can use my ATTWS SIM in it. As for the CF62 being 900/1800/1900? Well, since Cingular, T-Mo, and ATTWS are all 1900 in East Central AL, 850 is not an issue. And even if it were, I could just trade for a CF63! I love my CF62, it's so great!

I bought this phone today as an upgrade and they didn't even asked me to sign up for another year, I paid $49.99 for it and I like the phone, best of all I can use the charger and the headset with my S65. Now, I have requested and unlocking code to T-Mobile which I will get in my email soon. What I'd like to do is to restore it to factory settings and get rid of the T-Mobile customizations. How do I do that??? Thanks for your help

I got a program called Freia v18, I tried using that to unlock my phone, but it doesnt have boot patch support. <---dont even know what that is. oh and btw, i uploaded two java files and i tried running it, and guess what, it doesnt even work. so, now i'm stuck and i hope that someone will come out with a new freia version so that i can unlock this lovely phone.

If you have T-mobile you can always ask them an unlocking code

OOPS

sorry rx3864 I just noticed you are in Canada

In Canada, they wont even give you the unlock code, they SELL it to you, eventhough you rightfully own the phone!

I love mine too. It's a wonderful phone... :P I especially like how (according to my settings) the single dynamic light near the mouthpiece glows when I'm talking... people stop and stare.. hahaha...

UNLOCK
after you cut the test point (go to http://www.gsm-free.com)
try to create log with FREIA 10 set to model M55 and Bootcore bug option. If it "accept boot" then test point was cut OK. if it doesn't accept the boot. you haven't cut the testpoint.
use FREIA build 10 and choose model M55 set to bootcore bug and choose unlock using "original IMEI" and "direct unlock do not save map".
you are done, the phone is unlocked

I read posts about how bad the cf62 was, but just the other day I saw it for $49.99 with a T-mo to go plan. so I got it and just put my T-mo post pay sim in it. I really like the phone also. Reception is just as good, if not better than my Nokia 3595, and sound quality is great. The only thing I don't like is there is no button on the outside to silence calls, but that's not that big of deal. Anyway m-flo is right people do look at you when you are talking and the dynamic light is on. I like how you can set it for different patterns. By the way, is ebay the best place to get a data cable for it, or is there somewhere better?

I Love this phone. Games Loading time is long though but I don't play games on phones

I got this phone as soon as Fido Got it In Canada. I onlygot 1 call on this phone to complain about the gaming but other than that this phone has never been a call driver at work. T-Mobile Customers are very fond of this one. Very reliable.
