Well last night my 1135 got rained on and now when I turn it on, it says "Updating contact book. Please check back later." this flashes for a few seconds and then it proceeds to endlessly scroll through my contact book. Also, there is no button response while this is going on. Any ideas on how to fix this? Don't say get a new phone either, I don't have the money for a new one right now. Thanks for any help.

take the battery, faceplate(?) and any other user take-offable parts, adn let it dry for a couple days. also get one of those cans-o-air and blow that in to any gaps and crevices that may have moisture inside.

I don't know how to take the faceplate off, i'm afraid of breaking it.

To late, it's already busted. You've got nothing to lose now.

When a phone gets wet, whether it's on or off, hopefully off, immediately remove the battery and take the phone apart as much as possible. If it's lake/slimy water, rinse it under a clean water source. I'm guessing a non-salt water(water softener water is best).

Let phone dry for a couple of days before even trying to power it back on.

I resurrected a 2135 from the bottom of a lake, so water doesn't always kill them if you take the right steps.

I'm sorry, but I don't see anywhere in that guide how to take the faceplate off. It's just the manual that came with the phone.

(you won't break it) if the phone is already broken, why are you so worried about breaking it?

I went to USCC and got some POS loaner to use until my contract is up in about 6 weeks, then I'll be getting something nice. Thanks for the help.
