Trying to do the trick of sending a .mid or .mp3 file to my phone attached to a message. The message gets there okay, but trying to "extract sound" give the error, No Attachment. The files are small, 17K & under, tried several ways. No luck. Ideas? It's a Cingular LG C1300.

I have the same problem except that I have a G4020. Have you had any luck yet?

Not a thing. Searching around, I think the "emailing ringtones" may be blocked by the carrier (in my case, Cingular) in many, if not most locations. It'd cut into their "Download our $3.95 Ringtones!" biz if we could just go into our old files & find mids & mp3's and send them to ourselves. Probably the USB cable biz is in on it.
I guess I'll be waiting until BitPim or FutureDial or whatever supports the C1300. Unless somebody out there has an idea? Google-ing this is making my eyes bleed.

Okay, my problem was trying to send it regular email to phone. It has to go yourphone#@mms.mycingular.com. Note the 'mms'. Duh. Although the quality's not great; somehow my mp3's were changed to amr's and sound awfull.
I found a place called http://wap.rousso.net/ that lets you upload rings, pix, etc, where you can wap them down to your phone. I'm having trouble there because I keep getting a 405 method not allowed error when I try to log in from wap. The sysop says I'm the only one who's reported that problem. Could be the C1300 or Cingular or foul magic. Everyone else seems to have no problem. Give it a try.
