I just purchase my new car and it is a 2005 Toyota Corolla S with the sport package.. I was wondering if anyone would think $149.99 + tax for a security system for my which is a(n) aftermarket and I could keep the factory remote which they would convert too. Would any one think thats a good deal?

if it's an aftermarket alarm, you cant keep the factory toyota remote

btw, the toyota remotes are ugly anyways...why do you care so much about keeping it?

I wouldn't get it from them. Get yourself a Viper Security system with a remote starter.

It sounds like hes already got the VIP (Vehicle Intrusion Protection) system and now wants an additional system. There are systems out there that can be added to work in conjunction with your existing your remote. For example, my friend has a factory system on his truck and has a remote starter system installed complete with a red led on the dashboard and all he has to do is press "LOCK" twice and it starts up within 5 seconds.
Is this the kind of add-on you have in mind?

i would go aftermarket for sure... they have many more options for that price... but if you want quiality i suggest you pay the few extra bucks for a higher end Clarion or Clifford security system

OK, thanks for clarifying that. So you have the Toyota VIP system with the little black remote with the red panic button on the back. So you would be getting another alarm system in addition to the Toyota factory system.
What exactly are you looking for in an aftermarket system? If its just remote start, then yeah, get something that will work in tandem with the Toyota VIP factory system (i.e. a remote start).
Btw-forgot to add that on my friend's vehicle, in addition to pressing lock twice on the factory remote to start the vehicle, he can also press the power door lock switch inside the vehicle twice and that will also start the vehicle.

So if I was a car jacker and I broke your friend's window and jumped in, I could press lock twice and I'd have his car? That's kinda crappy when you think about it.

Not at all! If you know the first thing about the way remote-start systems work, you must put the key in the ignition in order to shift in to gear. Try to step on the brake... before you would be able to shift (not that you can without the key in), the car would shut off.

well what i meant was that it has a engine imbobilizer

Cool I guess.
