P800 Settings For Rogers Wireless

Following my purchase of a P800, I spent much time trying to configure the internet/wap settings. I subscribe to the Wireless Desktop service from Rogers Wireless here in Canada in order to access my 7 e-mail accounts.

This service allows me to instruct the mail server to send me an SMS message when e-mail is received by any one of these 7 accounts. It is not as fast as "push" e-mail like on a Blackberry but I do find that there is not much of a time lag.

Once the SMS is received, I can view the time & date as well as the sender and subject line. From here I can then logon to Rogers Wireless Desktop and retrieve any e-mails. From this connection, I can also surf WAP sites but if I want to check out full HTML sites, I use the Opera browser.

So far, the only drawback is when changing from the default internet button to using the Opera browser, I have to go into the Internet Accounts settings under the Connections tab in Control Panel and change the Server Address to "internet.com" from "goam.com".

After much "playing around" initially and again after getting the OS flashed and upgraded, I created a step-by-step instruction sheet which I can make available to anyone that would like it. I have it in both MS Word and Adobe PDF (Ver. 5). Just PM me and I will send it to you or if someone would like to host it just let me know.

Also, if anyone figures out how to run both connections simultaneously without having to change the sever address each time, let me know and I can update these instructions.
